These positions are being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions in accordance with 10 USC 1705(g).

About the Position:
We are the U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland (APG). We have a large presence at APG with contracting offices around the country including: Adelphi, MD; Natick, MA; Research Triangle Park, NC; Fort Belvoir, VA; Orlando, FL; and White Sands Missile Range, NM. ACC-APG supports the warfighter worldwide through acquisition of goods and services vital to the Soldier's mission and well-being. As Army's business conduit, ACC offers the contracting expertise of the best trained people in the Army, ready to support the warfighter as mission requirements emerge and as the Army transforms and moves within the Continental US and throughout the globe while ensuring responsible stewardship of taxpayers' funds.Because of the partnership with Picerne Military Housing, Department of Army civilian employees now have an option to rent family housing and enjoy the benefits of living on-post at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. In this position you will serve as a Contract Specialist utilizing knowledge and skills in applying the full range of pre-award and post-award functions to include: negotiations, cost/price analysis, contract administration and close out for a variety of supply, service, and/or construction contracts. The incumbent will be authorized a limited warrant in support of a variety of contracts, contract requirements, high dollar and mission essential acquisitions. Typical requirements include technical equipment, supplies, construction, and services ranging from standard items which are complicated by urgent delivery requirements or security classification to complex or sophisticated requirements. Contract Specialists are responsible for pre-award and post-award process, negotiations, cost/price analysis, contract administration and close out for a variety of supplies, services, and/or construction contracts. Provides guidance to other contract specialists regarding implementation of specific requirements into RFP. Performs contract management functions in accordance with Federal Acquisition regulations and contractual agreements. Interprets contract agreements for Agency officials and contractors. Responsible for timely placement of task/delivery orders under various indefinite delivery contracts.

Note: The incumbent may be required to work long hours (possibly late into the evening) during contract negotiation sessions.
