About the Position:
This position is located in Vicenza, Italy. Vicenza is situated midway between Venice and Verona, 45 minutes driving in either direction. It is less than 3 hours drive from Florence, Milan, and to the borders of Austria and Germany. Vicenza is a medium sized community with excellent infrastructure support, (DoDDS, Housing, etc). The climate is temperate with availability of a wide variety of outdoor activities in the nearby mountains (Dolomites) and beaches (Adriatic Sea). Incumbent serves as a Contract Specialist responsible for the full range of contract functions encompassing issuing solicitations, evaluating proposals, contract negotiations, execution and administration for complex and technical services, construction contracts, and/or Federal Information Processing (FIP) Resources (computer services, hardware, software, etc.), and special assigned programs, in support of the 414th Contracting Support Brigade (CSB), Expeditionary Contracting Command- Italy and Africa (ECC-A) mission. The incumbent may hold a contracting officer's warrant, authorizing signature without dollar limitation, and the full range of responsibilities that accompany Contracting Officer duties. Performs all pre-award contracting functions that require the use of fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, or a combination of contract methods and types to procure large, highly complex/high dollar equipment systems, programs or services where little or no contractual precedent exists, analyzing requirements and recommending necessary revisions to requesting activities to clarify requirements.
Occasional travel - TDY up to 10% of the time
