"Our Most Valuable Resource"

I'm Jeff Parsons...

If the soldier shoots it, drives it, wears it or eats it, the ACC buys it. We are... providing the professional workforce that actually enter into contracts with contractors to provide goods and services to the military. When you take a look at the range of goods and services our five thousand civilians and military buy in the Army Contracting Command, it's immense! And a lot of it is very exciting.

Without a doubt hands-down what I'm proudest about is the people that we have in the Army Contracting Command. My vision statement, it's about developing a professional workforce. My most valuable resource is the people because they're the ones that do the work. They're the ones that receive a requirement to buy something whether it's a good or service and they're the ones that have to figure out, "how am I going to buy that?"

What... what I take pride in is knowing that we are working hard to develop this professional workforce to provide that competency to the United States Army. And as I see us bring new individuals into contracting and watch them develop and succeed and move up to be the actual contracting officer or to be running one of our major contracting uhh, centers, that... that to me is my proudest moment, is when I see our people excel like that.
